RECYCLING: AN EVERYDAY FOCUS

For many years, TRAVYL® has collected and recycled production scraps from many of its clients, and it always offers this service where financially possible.

All products transformed by TRAVYL® are recyclable.

In order to also reduce our environmental impact, whenever the solution is economically appropriate, we offer our regular clients the option to collect packaging (cores, pallets, etc.) in order to reuse them.

The recent modernisation of the crushing workshop in 2009 allowed TRAVYL® to increase its performance and crushing capacity.

DEVELOPMENT OF FORMULATIONS TO INTEGRATE ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINTS

The formulations of our products are continually reviewed by our R&D teams to integrate new legislation: REACH, heavy metals, EN71-3 toy standards, children’s products standards…

Since 2009, TRAVYL® has offered a JT reference version containing less than 0.1% phthalates or bisphenol A for its vinyl film products, even standard ones. As of 01/06/2011, no CMR component is used in our products.

Backed by its experience and its laboratory, TRAVYL® anticipates its clients’ requests by developing calendered flexible films meeting very strict environmental criteria.

Since 2009, TRAVYL® has offered a range of AGROVYL WOOD® products containing plant fibres in its formulation. This product is obviously recyclable.

REGULAR INVESTMENT IN THE ENVIRONMENT

Various investments have been made over 3 years to save resources:

• Water: annual consumption has fallen 60 times thanks to the installation of a closed circuit cooling system.
• Energy: thanks to improved production planning, a waste reduction programme has been put in place.
• Packaging: since 2008, we have reduced our non-hazardous industrial waste by nearly 50%, particularly by optimising packaging with our suppliers (removing covers over raw material pallets) but also by reusing or recovering our suppliers’ pallets.

Paper in our offices are also sorted to be able to reuse it for scrap.
